Iris Sun was born in Yingkou, Liao Ning Province. She earned her Bachelor Degree in Chinese Language and Literature from University of Political Science and Law in Beijing, graduating in 2011.
After graduation, she continued her education in the field of language teaching at the Graduate School of Education of the University of Pennsylvania in the TESOL Program (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages).
Her major studies included: Ancient and Modern Chinese Language; Chinese Lexicology and Phonology; Ancient, Modern and Contemporary Chinese Literature; History of Foreign Drama; History of Western Aesthetics; Educational Linguistics; Second Language Acquisition; Adult Literacy; Language Assessment; and TESOL Practice Teaching.
During her study at Penn, she taught both English and Chinese for one and a half years to adults and children from ten different countries. She specialized in task-based language teaching, emphasizing real-life interaction as both the means and goal of language study.
Iris is outgoing and friendly. She likes many kinds of music and dancing, including belly dance, tango and modern dance. Also, she likes reading, traveling and exploring museums.She joined Mandarin King in 2014, and looks forward to applying benefits of her experience gained in studying and teaching abroad to her work here.
